Radar Domes

The Industrial contracting projects are getting more and more interesting with each month. Martin and his team had the opportunity to re-design and build the base for a new radar dome that was installed at one of South Africas International airports. The steel structure has a massive 10,5m diameter and had to be hoisted in sections to a height of more than 60 meters. The team was also tasked to assist in the installation of the hardware and had to make some modifications to some of the access points into and out of the dome. With the August weather being in-between seasons and challenging the teams during installation, they still managed to complete the installation in an impressive 2 days. We look forward to seeing what they’ll be working on in the next couple of weeks.
