Marine Engineering
The Engineering Hub provides a vast range of mechanical engineering services including fault-finding, fabrication, modification and ship repair services. We offer world-class craftsmanship through artisans with years of experience ranging from semi-skilled to qualified red seal artisans – hydraulic experts, electricians, boilermakers, welders, mechanical fitters and millwrights.
Our highly skilled project engineers work closely with the ship superintendent to ensure that every completed project adheres to both our exceptionally high standards as well as client specifications.
Cranes
We offer a wide range of repairs to truck-mounted, mobile, knuckle boom and king post cranes, as well as aerial platform lifts. Additionally, we offer refurbishment and replacement of deck crane sheaves, wire rope, crane booms and tilt cylinders as well as fabrication & installation of bushes and pins.
Vapour Abrasive Blasting
Vapor abrasive or Wet abrasive blasting is a more efficient way of removing coatings, contaminants, corrosion and residues from hard surfaces. It is similar to dry sand blasting but introduces moisture into the blast media prior to impacting the surface.
The advantage of vapor abrasive blasting over sandblasting is that it reduces dust, allowing operators to work in a wide range of environments with minimal setup and cleanup costs. The result is a cleaner and more consistent finish that is ready to coat, with no embedded particles or clinging dust.

Control Valves
The Engineering Hub provides fault detection and fitment of a vast range of valves and flow controllers. These include mechanical, electrical operated, push-button hand operated control, relieve, divider, check, needle, port relieve and stag valves.
Centrifugal Pumps
We provide a full range of services on centrifugal pumps, including change-outs of mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, wear rings, neck bushes and fitment or manufacturing of new shafts as per client specifications. Centrifugal pumps are a type of mechanical pump that uses a rotating impeller to create a flow of fluid. The impeller is housed within a casing, which directs the flow of fluid through the pump. As the impeller rotates, it creates a centrifugal force that moves the fluid outward, increasing the velocity and pressure of the fluid. This pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the pump causes the fluid to flow through the system. Centrifugal pumps are commonly used in a wide range of industries, including chemical processing, water treatment, and HVAC systems. They are popular due to their simplicity, reliability, and ease of maintenance. However, their performance can be affected by factors such as viscosity and temperature, which must be considered when selecting a pump for a specific application.
Hydraulic Repairs
We offer fault-finding and maintenance on complete hydraulic power units, fitment of new valves, pumps, hydraulic motors, tanks, filters, electric motors, bell housings, couplings, oil coolers, hoses and fittings as well as refurbishment and replacement of hydraulic cylinders.
Pipelines
The Engineering Hub offers design, evaluation, failure investigation, leak detection, modification, fabrication, manufacturing, installation and repair services of water, acid, oil, high pressure, steam- and condensate pipelines.
Marine Manufacturing
Our well-equipped machining workshop allows us to fabricate replacement parts and special-purpose equipment. With the use of our industry-leading CNC machines, a boiler shop and a fitting & assembly area, we are able to tailor each project to the specific needs of our clients.
Bow & Stern Repair
The Engineering Hub specialises in the complete removal and overhaul of bow and stern thrusters as per Original Equipment Manufacturer specifications.
