MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric certificate with mathematics.
• Formal Tertiary education: Qualified Artisan Trade Tested (Toolmaker / Fitter & Turner or equivalent trade test).
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience operating a CNC Machine.
• CNC operating experience on Siemens, Fanuc or Mazatrol Controls.
• Drivers Licence: Code 8 (required).
DUTIES
• Read and interpret the detail and requirements of a mechanical design drawing
• Knowledge of different metals, materials and the characteristics of the material, especially during the manufacturing process.
• Must be competent in reading mechanical drawings, managing planning and managing time management to achieve the completion of the task as set out on the aforesaid drawing.
• Planning works and manufacturing parts
• Planning machining by studying work orders, mechanical drawings, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to assign production-related hours and tasks.
• Ability to work on the necessary and required machines.
• CNC programming and operation of CNC Lathes and Milling Machines
• Sets up lathes, and milling machines, by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops & stock pushers and indicating vices, etc.
• Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintaining specifications by observing drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, thread cutting and milling operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintaining equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Be responsible for part set-up, programming and operating CNC Machines, for all components to be manufactured.

• Must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him/her and complete this in the allotted time space.
