MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of a B-Tech Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics degree from a registered institution.
• Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence.
• Proficient in Siemens PLC and HMI programming. Allen Bradley will be advantageous.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Drivers Licence: Code 8 (Mandatory).

EXPERIENCE

• Proven 5 years of experience as a programmer in a similar industry.

DUTIES

• Design and implement various software solutions in line with the company’s project portfolio.
• Complete hardware configuration on various PLC architectures.
• Develop software to integrate a mechatronic system.
• Design and implement HMI software to interface with the client.
• Simulate and trial software during development to reduce on-site operations.
• Develop equipment operational manuals.
• Add value in the process of hardware planning and design.
• Assist with controls philosophy and hardware selection.
• Develop concept system architecture, for quotation purposes and active projects.
• Develop input/output tables.

• Ability to assist in fault finding.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Use electrical drawings to help diagnose error that come to light during commissioning.
• Diagnose and resolve functionality and process driven faults.
• Commission software on location and on company premises.
• Commission and test software in our workshop before sending equipment to site.
• Operate and stand by equipment during client buy-off phase of a project.
• Commission and test software on site, local and abroad.
• Provide training to the client where required.
• Perform client required standby on the equipment.
• Liaise with customers to ensure software solutions are implemented as per the client’s specifications.
• If a client has their own software standard, these standards need to be followed.
• Attend client meetings to discuss and develop the software functionality.
• Health and Safety.
• Assist with Administration Responsibilities.
