MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Qualified Red Seal artisan and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Project Management Certification would be advantageous.
• Highly skilled in Project Management. Highly Complex projects.
• Extensive knowledge in tooling – heavy press tools, jigs and fixtures, checking fixtures etc.
• Knowledgeable of South African codes and regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Willing to travel locally and internationally.
EXPERIENCE
• 10 - 15 years of experience managing R1m - R15m projects in line with the company’s
offerings.
• Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers.
• Very knowledgeable in mechanical products and systems. Automated equipment and robotic systems knowledge would be advantageous.
• Proficient in reading P&ID as well as mechanical engineering drawings.
• Experienced with Quality systems, i.e., ISO 9001:2015
• Knowledge of Odoo is advantageous.
DUTIES
Project Management
• Receive project information from the sales team.
• Read and interpret the details and requirements for the project execution.
• Understand who the customer is and what their standard requirements are.
• Develop timing plans and schedules for critical phases of the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate contract amendments and additions.
• Review costing and develop invoice structure for the duration of the project.
• Plan the final phase of the project, including final commissioning, the start of the warranty and customer sign-off.
• Maintains high ethical standards of conduct for all activities.
Sub-contractor selection and appointment
• Source the correct sub-contractors for the project.
• Detailed resource allocation and sub-contractor selection to match the budget.
• Manage site establishment, i.e.: setting up site offices, internet, and office furniture.
• Ensure all staff are inducted.
• Ensure all staff have the correct PPE.
Quality Control
• Ensure that all work is always performed to the highest level of quality at all times.
• Must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him/her and complete this in the allotted time space.
• Understand and use our ISO Quality Management System
• Assist in the development of written information as required for operating manuals and other internal/external documentation.
Site and Staff Management
• Manage staff attendance and accurate timekeeping records.
• Manage staff queries and complaints and report same to HR.
• Exceptional housekeeping at all times.
• Zero tolerance for transgressions on environmental regulations of the site.
• Ensure that all work is always performed to the highest level of quality at all times.
• Must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him/her and complete this in the allotted time space.
