FIXED TERM
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric certificate
• Logistics Qualification
• Drivers Licence Code B & above advantageous.
• Forklift Licence advantageous
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in store control, logistics, inventory, etc.
DUTIES
Customer and Supplier relations
• Develop business relationships with suppliers/vendors and customers.
• Work to understand customers’ needs and how to meet them.
Procurement
• Responsible for the purchasing of tools, machinery, raw materials, consumables etc.
• Negotiate and obtain prices from relevant suppliers for projects and stock-related requirements.
• Source the most cost-effective products on the market.
• Responsible for price comparisons.
• Plan strategies to minimise the cost or time required for project logistics.
• Present the various supplier options based on the Bill of Materials, highlighting the best options from a price and delivery perspective.
Logistics
• Follow up on deliveries from suppliers to ensure deliveries are better than the target date.
• Review the success of logistical functions and identify areas for improvement, present performance data to management, and propose improvements to management and suppliers.
• Check and confirm receipt of goods that match the technical requirements and quantities ordered and make sure the processes are followed accurately.
• Stay current on advances in logistics technology and incorporate new technologies into procedures, where agreed.
Stock Take
• Assist the team in the storage /warehousing process, counting and recording inventory.
• Responsible for actual inventory counts; must be knowledgeable about inventory items to be counted, the counting procedures used, and the location of all inventories, identify items as coming from or belonging to the customer, keep those items segregated from other production materials/tools, and maintain control of customer inventory.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Master Parts List. Assist the manager in the activities of receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or material, and assist in planning, developing, or implementing warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
Quality control and documentation
• Ensure that all work is always performed to the highest level of quality at all times.
• Capturing of Non-Conformances (NCs) with associated costs.
• Presentation of results to Management as and when required.
• Understand and use our ISO Quality Management System.
Adhere to health and safety
• Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to including Permit to Work.
• Comply with Health and Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. Actively seek to improve the safety culture.
• Report any Health and Safety issues/accidents/near misses to your account manager immediately.
